THE PARK PATROL
An opportunity to share the message of the Gospel with the least fortunate in the Community.
The Park Patrol is administered by the Dorcas Committee of the Presbyterian Women's Association, and is an outreach to the homeless people who live in the parks and on the streets of inner-city Sydney.
The Park Patrol has been delivering food and clothing to the homeless for eighteen years at a yearly cost of approximately $16,000.
Each month 70 volunteers like those in this picture cut sandwiches and make deliveries. Hundreds more volunteers from city and country churches supply socks, handkerchiefs, beanies, scarves, gloves, and also funds.

Four days each week, 50 weeks a year, the delivery teams distribute 60
food parcels to the homeless. Bibles and books are offered, and it is
estimated that 1,500 pairs of socks and handkerchiefs, as well as 700
beanies, scarves and gloves are distributed annually. This photo shows
some of the donated clothing being sorted.
